Heinrich Ludwig Egmont Dorn

Students of Berger, Klein and Zelter and a teacher of Schumann, Dorn accepted a posture in the theatre of Konigsberg, a conductorship at Leipzig, Hamburg, Riga, Cologne and finally Berlin. Among the additional composers he fulfilled, through the possibilities of his sessions, had been Wagner and Hiller. Dorn’s musical styles included opera, choral functions, chamber music, orchestral items and funny lieder. It had been the second option (regarding his performing abilities) that produced his reputation and in addition brought him into some reputation.
