Stockholm’s folk-tinged indie pop combo Heikki features the primary duo of guitarist Jari Haapalainen and vocalist Maria Eriksson plus a revolving solid of supporting music artists. Haapalainen, who also takes on with the Carry Quartet and it has created albums by Nicolai Dunger, Ed Harcourt, the (International) Sound Conspiracy, as well as the Concretes, amongst others, and Eriksson, who also takes on guitar using the Concretes, fulfilled and began operating collectively in 1999 as Heikki (acquiring the name of Haapalainen’s Finnish grandfather). 3 years later on, they released Heikki, their debut mini-album, which launched the band’s exclusive mixture of ’60s lady group pop, folk, and country-pop. In 2004, their 1st full-length, Heikki 2, showed up; early in 2005, it had been distributed within the U.S. by Magic Marker.
