Innocent and indulgent, the Hecuba duo makes artsy indie pop that continues in the custom from the Fiery Furnaces as well as the Blow. Companions (romantically and musically) Isabelle Albuquerque and Jon Beasley fulfilled in Brooklyn in 2003. Beasley was directing a imaginary film about alien abduction whenever a shared friend recommended that Albuquerque play the starring part as the abductee. After producing the movie, both started producing music together and finally moved in collectively in the Echo Recreation area portion of L.A. Using bass bloops, glitches, and a drain of musical instruments, Hecuba concocted an inventive kind of music that combined electro, dub, experimental indie pop, and ’60s young lady groupings.
