A meeting from the thoughts between two music artists who explore the nexus between punk rock and roll and root base music, Heavy Garbage is a cooperation between Jon Spencer and Matt Verta-Ray. Spencer initial attracted the eye of ambitious music supporters in 1985 along with his primitive electric guitar work and fresh vocals with frantic sound vendors Pussy Galore, however when the music group divide in 1990, he became a member of pushes with guitarist Judah Bauer and drummer Russell Simins to create the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Melding R&B accents and Spencer’s feral blues wailing using a fractured but powerful post-punk strike, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion became perhaps one of the most acclaimed and questionable indie bands from the 1990s. Hed. In 2007, Large Trash came back with another album, Going WAY TO AVOID IT with Heavy Garbage. They cranked out another record immediately after, but 2009’s Midnight Spirit Serenade ended up being their last for some time.
