Heavy Load

Often hailed simply because Sweden’s first rock band, Large Load was founded in Stockholm, in 1976, simply by brothers Ragne (vocals/electric guitar) and Styrbjörn Wahlquist (drums/vocals). With bassist Dan Molén in tow, the brothers released Large Load’s debut record, Full Rate at ADVANCED, in 1978, but their 3rd party record company proceeded to go bankrupt, and it wasn’t until 3 years afterwards that they re-emerged independently Thunderload Information imprint, hoisting aloft the Steel Conquest EP, and followed by new people Eddie Malm (electric guitar) and Torbjorn Ragnesjo (bass). Two even more albums then implemented in quick succession: 1982’s Loss of life or Glory and 1983’s MORE POWERFUL THAN Bad — both building Large Load’s “glorious steel” style being a cross between your dreamed absurdity of Vertebral Tap as well as the all-too-real (but occasionally equally amazing) proto-power/acceleration steel of Manowar. Rock fans seemed baffled about this aswell, and since their product sales continued to be limited at greatest, the group made a decision to break up carrying out a last one entitled “Monsters of the night time” in 1985. Large Fill briefly reformed in 1987 for a fresh round of studio room sessions that have yet to become released, therefore the Wahlquist brothers possess since converted their attentions to creating other bands.
