Hazelden

A decade late towards the grunge party, Hazelden shaped in 2008 and earned quick evaluations to alternative rock and roll bands in the ’90s. Garbage and L7 had been touchstones, but since business lead vocalist Mary Jane Snow distributed smoky vocal characteristics with Courtney Like, Gap became the go-to guide stage when critics attempted to pinpoint the band’s audio. Snow transferred from a self-described “white-trash Minnesota community” to the larger playgrounds of Chicago, London, and SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA before deciding to go down to LA with ambitions to become a rock superstar. Inspired with the Strokes as well as the Vines on the air, she started performing at open-mike evenings in the underground L.A. membership circuit. She shortly fulfilled guitarist Travis Garrecht, bassist Joshua Wayne, and drummer Pete Vasquez, as well as the four made a decision to type a music group and name themselves Hazelden, after Hedley Hazelden, a global War II check pilot. After penning some simple music with distorted guitars and catchy hooks, they self-released their initial EP, Deadstock Rock and roll, in Feb of 2008. The next month, an attorney representing the drug-and-alcohol treatment service Hazelden approached the group, requesting the bandmembers to improve their name.
