Haysi Fantayzee

Haysi Fantayzee was a quirky ’80s pop group known most because of its colorful thrift store picture and successful debut single “John Wayne Is Leggy.” Previous Pet Magnet member Paul Caplin was the group’s innovator, performing as arranger, maker, and lone instrumentally skillful member. Jeremiah Healy and Kate Garner had been the band’s center point as colorfully bedecked performers whose colourful leggings, extended dreads, and huge hats drew accusations of design swiping from Boy George. The music group also included bassist Alfie Agius, program violinist Bobby Valentino, saxophonist Simon Henry, and guitarists Mick and Kate Green. Several singles predated the band’s lone full-length, the debut which strike number 11 for the English chart. Fight Hymns for Kids Singing premiered in 1983, carrying out respectably sales-wise but failing woefully to build on the achievement of the initial single. They split up quickly thereafter. Healy continuing as a intensifying trance DJ, Garner released some single recordings, and Agius became a member of up with the Fixx.
