This profane black metal outfit was formed in June 1993, and was led by self-confessed NY Satanist, drum-teacher and graphic artist, Paul Ledney: ‘In the times when Venom first appeared there is something very personal in what was happening. You could relate with the music. There are just way too many trendies jumping on the bandwagon and imitating what they perceive being the atmosphere from the genre. Each of them placed on make-up and sing about Satan. They think that only makes them wicked’. Equally inspired by the first punk rings, Ledney come up with Havohej being a studio room project following dissolution of his previously music group, Profanatica, when tapes of their first complete album together had been mysteriously demolished in the studio room (probably a very important thing, provided its working name – The Raping FROM THE Virgin Mary). That they had previously documented a split record with Columbian music group Massacre for the Osmose label, and a three-track one, ‘Unholy Darkness And Impurity’. Like Profanatica, Havohej benefited in the underground tape picture, particularly as much of the music on the music group’s debut record had been reconstructions of materials from Ledney’s previous outfit. Nevertheless, by the center of 1994 Havohej, as well, were forget about.
