Tx jazz blues singer Hattie Burleson documented four monitors in Dallas, TX, for Brunswick Information in Oct 1928. 2 yrs later she documented three edges in Grafton, WI, for Paramount Information. Little else is well known about her lifestyle, save that she resided in the famed Deep Ellum section of downtown Dallas, where she controlled a dancehall for a while. She is most likely best remembered on her behalf melody “Sadie’s Servant Area Blues,” which chronicles the extended hours and poor pay out of domestic provider workers.
