Heading from Jimi Hendrix addresses to traditional Scandinavian fiddle music may seem just like a giant jump of imagination, but it’s just what the Swedish duo of Harv offers handled. Magnus Stinnerbom and Daniel Fine sandén-Warg first performed collectively in 1992, if they had been 14, while going to a high college for musicians within their hometown of Karlstad. In Harv’s extremely first incarnation, Stinnerbom performed drums and Fine sandén-Warg guitar, because they jammed on older Hendrix songs, looking to become rock stars. The thought of shifting to traditional music arrived a year later on. Stinnerbom had developed using the music, his dad having been a fiddle participant using the seminal Swedish folk music group Groupa, so when he finally performed a number of the older noises for his friend, Fine sandén-Warg was an instantaneous convert. However, it could still be some time before the set appeared in public areas. Their debut as Harv (which means “harrow”) arrived in 1996, if they offered the music for any creation of Hamlet from the Västanå Theater, and their eponymous 1st CD showed up a year later on. Stinnerbom later explained it as “simply us, and it had been just music from our section of Sweden, our opportunity showing people where we’re from, and explore on our custom. Then we’re able to build on that.” It required a time to allow them to build onto it, though, as Stinnerbom started performing with previous Hedningarna vocalist Sanni Kurki-Suonio before signing up for Hedningarna. Fine sandén-Warg started to immerse himself in traditional music, researching music and background. The set reconvened in 2000 to create Must, including guests Roger Tallroth from Väsen on electric guitar and Hedningarna’s Björn Tollin on percussion. The recording noticed them widen their horizons, playing not only regional music, but actually pieces made up by Stinnerbom. In 2001 they undertook their initial UNITED STATES tour, but upon arriving house they stepped back to the studio room to record. Piecing together another motivating and fun record, the group released Tost another calendar year on North Aspect Records.
