Hart-Rouge

The French-Canadian, folk-based act Hart-Rouge is a family group act that began performing within the ‘70s. Hailing from the tiny city of Willow Number, Saskatchewan, the seven kids within the Campagne family members were instilled using a like and appreciation of the French-Canadian traditions and music by their dad. The siblings got the name Folle Avoine and begun to perform at folk celebrations in their indigenous Canada within the ‘70s. A quartet of the kids (Paul, Annette, Michelle, and Suzanne) shaped Hart-Rouge, acquiring the name from the initial name of the hometown and a type of cigarette smoked with the indigenous people. They released a self-titled debut in 1988 and produced waves when their 1991 discharge, Inconditionnel, received large airplay from French-Canadian r / c. They released a Christmas record that same season entitled Le Dernier Mois de L’Anne (THE FINAL Month of the entire year) and, a season afterwards, they released their initial English record, Blue Blue Home windows, including an a cappella edition of Neil Young’s “Helpless.” They continuing to record through the entire ‘90s, even though work was pared to some trio when Annette still left mid-decade, as well as the group produced inroads in to the Expresses with ‘97’s Beaupre’s House.
