Harry Woods

Tin Skillet Alley lyricist Harry Woods composed many hits through the 1920s and 1930s. Although he was referred to as a drinker along with a fighter, Woods penned such music as “JUST A LITTLE Kiss EVERY MORNING” (1929) and “Get one of these Small Tenderness” (1932). He’s also in charge of several million-selling strikes, including “Once the Crimson Crimson Robin Shows up Bobbing Along” (1926), “I’m OVERLOOKING a Four Leaf Clover,” and “Hand and hand,” both created in 1927. “Hand and hand” was originally documented by typically the most popular bandleader from the ’20s, Paul Whiteman. That melody and “I’m OVERLOOKING a Four Leaf Clover” also marketed well the next period around, with revivals by Kay Starr in 1953 and Artwork Mooney in 1947, respectively. Woods was also the writer of music adopted by specific entertainers as theme music, including Rudy Vallée’s “Heigh Ho, Everybody, Heigh Ho” (1929) and Kate Smith’s “Once the Moon Shows up Over the Hill” (1931).
