Harris Eisenstadt

Drummer/percussionist/composer Harris Eisenstadt provides performed in a number of configurations, including jazz, creative improvised, and African music ensembles. Delivered in 1975 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he implemented in the footsteps of his drummer dad, but was athletically willing, playing football and hockey. Though his parents implemented a pr company, Eisenstadt gravitated toward music, playing the drum package in the cellar of the Top Canada University at age group ten, where he also graduated some years afterwards. His early affects had been Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham, and jazz drummers Tony Williams, Elvin Jones, Tony Oxley, and John Stevens. As a sophisticated student, he got lessons with Toronto composer David Mott, shifted to NEW YORK where he was tutored by Barry Altschul, caused the Knitting Manufacturer, gained his B.A. cum laude in books and music from Maine’s Colby University in 1988, and received his Experts in Great Arts via African-American improvisational music on scholarship or grant through the California Institute from the Arts in 2001. Whilst in LA, he caused KOLA — the Kreative Orchestra of LA, collaborated with Adam Rudolph, and teamed with Rudolph and Sam Streams for the Compact disc Vista. He spent some time working using a startling selection of top-notch music artists, including Yusef Lateef, Vinny Golia, Elton Dean, Adam Newton, Tony Malaby, Bennie Maupin, Wayne Horvitz, Nels Cline, Marty Ehrlich, Urban Bushwomen, and so many more. Eisenstadt resided in Gambia for a couple months, provides since performed with traditional Western world African dance troupes from 1999-2003, and in North California followed poet laureate Al Youthful alongside the Ralph Jones/Kenn Cox combo. Within the movie theater globe, he continues to be an accompanist to Macbeth, a one-man version of Shakespeare’s tragedy starring Tony award-winner Stephen Dillane, and performed within the 2005 globe premiere of Anne LeBaron’s opera Damp in LA Eisenstadt offers received many honours and commissions including a Meet up with the Composer Global Contacts Give in 2006, American Composers Discussion board Subito Grants or loans in 2004 & 2005, as well as the Durfee Basis Give in 2004. Eisenstadt relocated to Jersey Town, NJ, after that to Brooklyn, N.Con. where his profession has removed. His recordings consist of Fight or Airline flight from the brand new Sonic label in 2002.
