Harold Bauer

Born right into a music family members, Harold Bauer gave his first concerts before he was a decade aged. His parents had been his first instructors, before he began monitoring violin with Adolf Politzer. At age 15, he provided open public concerts on both violin and piano and shortly transferred to Paris to be able to launch a profession as a single violinist. A turning stage in his profession came when British pianist Graham Moore presented him to Paderewski in London. In 1899, he performed in Scandinavia and holland and with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under Hans Richter, and in 1900 he produced his American debut using the Boston Symphony. Although he was known for his interpretations from the canonical Germanic repertoire, he was also carefully associated with specific French composers from the twentieth hundred years. He provided the Paris premiere of Debussy’s Children’s Part suite and the brand new York premiere of Ravel’s Concerto in G main (Ravel devoted his Ondine to Bauer). He was also mixed up in field of chamber music, playing piano trios with Thibaud and Casals, as well as the duo piano repertoire with Gabrilowitsch. Bauer became an American resident in 1917, and 2 yrs afterwards, founded the Beethoven Culture of NY. He afterwards became president from the Close friends of Music from the Library of Congress. Bauer was an important teacher, proceeding the piano section on the Manhattan College of Music.
