Harold Adamson

Lyric writer Harold Adamson wrote a large number of standards through the 1930s and ’40s, including “Period about My Hands,” “Winter season Wonderland,” “An Affair to keep in mind,” “Everything I’VE Is Yours,” “We Couldn’t Rest a Wink YESTERDAY EVENING,” “It’s an excellent World,” “Manhattan Serenade,” “There’s Something in the Atmosphere,” and “You Took what Right From My Mouth area.” Created in Greenville, NJ, in 1906, Adamson started writing verse during senior high school. Still, he spent additional time on his performing profession while at the College or university of Kansas and later on, Harvard. After graduation, one of is own lyrics — “Period on My Hands,” co-written by Mack Gordon and Vincent Youmans — gained a location in Florenz Ziegfeld’s 1930 creation Smiles. Through the remaining decade, Adamson positioned many tracks in the favorite cannon, collaborating with superb tunesmiths like Burton Street, J.
