Hans Glawischnig

Jazz bass participant Hans Glawischnig was created in Graz, Austria, on Oct 22, 1970. His dad was a well known pianist, big-band innovator, and educator who influenced him to pursue a profession in music. In 1976 Glawischnig enrolled like a violinist within the talented pupils’ course from the Academy of Music in Graz. In 1983 he started playing the electrical bass acoustic guitar, and by 1986 he’d added the acoustic twice bass. From 1986 to 1988 he analyzed part-time within the jazz division from the Academy with American expatriate bassist Wayne Darling. After graduating from senior high school, Glawischnig relocated to america to simply accept a scholarship or grant in the Berklee College of Music in Boston. During those years, he analyzed with bassist Bruce Gertz; performed and documented with faculty users Hal Crook, Phil Wilson, and Greg Hopkins, and followed several going to clinicians, including drummers Steve Smith and Casey Scheuerell. In 1992 he received his B.A. magna cum laude, after that headed for NEW YORK to enter the Master’s system at Manhattan College of Music, also on the scholarship or grant. He fulfilled and analyzed with Jeff Andrews while also providing personal lessons, and received his level in 1994. The very first professional break for Glawischnig arrived in 1995 when he became a member of Bobby Watson’s Urban Renewal alongside drummer Victor Lewis, accompanied by a stint with Maynard Ferguson’s Big Bop Nouveau and in 1996 with Ray Barretto’s ” NEW WORLD ” Spirit music group. This resulted in a dizzying amount of collaborations, and designated Glawischnig like a first-call bassist in ny. Further collaborations included playing a multitude of modern jazz and Latin musics with Paquito d’Rivera, David Samuels, Bobby Sanabria, Rick Margitza, Garry Dial, Billy Harper, Richie Beirach, Billy Hart, Joe Locke, David Sanchez, Dave Binney, Ken Hatfield, Adam Rogers, Tag Murphy, Stefon Harris, Claudio Roditi, Donny McCaslin, Billy Drewes, Ari Hoenig, Wayne Moody, Jamey Haddad, Brian Lynch, Phil Woods, and Claudia Acuña. His use David Sanchez garnered that music group two Grammy nominations. Glawischnig documented his unique compositions for the new Audio/New Talent Compact disc Common Floor. A reunion with Ray Barretto on the tribute to Artwork Blakey noticed Glawischnig adding an set up of “Buh’s Bossa,” along with a program with Brian Lynch highlighted his original structure “Beholding.” He released the critically acclaimed Panorama in 2008 and implemented four years afterwards with Jahira, a trio outing motivated by Charlie Haden and Sonny Rollins’ little ensemble functions (both recordings had been in the Sunnyside label).
