Biography

Hannu Lintu is really a prominent Finnish conductor, known for exploring neglected orchestral repertoire, in addition to for promoting modern music. Been trained in piano and cello in the Turku Conservatory as well as the Sibelius Academy, he analyzed performing with Atso Almila, Jorma Panula, and Eri Klas, and participated in expert classes with Ilja Musin. He also received teaching from Myung-Whun Chung. In 1994 he received the the Nordic Performing Competition in Bergen, and in 1996 graduated with honors from your Sibelius Academy. Lintu was the principle conductor from the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra from 1998 to 2001, and offered as main conductor and creative director from the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra from 2002 to 2005. In 2005 he was the creative director of the summertime Sounds Festival from the Finnish modern music ensemble, the Avanti! Chamber Orchestra. In ’09 2009 he became main conductor from the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, and this year 2010 was called main conductor designate from the Finnish Radio Symphony. Lintu can be the principal visitor conductor from the RTÉ Country wide Symphony Orchestra in Dublin. Furthermore to carrying out with orchestras across European countries, he has visitor conducted in THE UNITED STATES, SOUTH USA, Asia, and Australia. He provides led lots of the world’s finest orchestras, like the LA Philharmonic, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and many more. Lintu has documented for Ondine, Alba, Naxos, Ricordi, Claves, Hyperion, and Danacord.
