Hannah Cohen

Known in elements of the brand new York Town art and music scenes like a magic size, visible artist, singer, and songwriter, Hannah Cohen imparts haunting, detached vocals to her melancholic indie pop. A SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA native, she was raised around music via her dad, West Coastline jazz drummer Myron Cohen. Locating international modeling are an adolescent, she eventually arrived in NEW YORK, where she posed for performers including Richard Prince, David Salle, and professional photographer Ryan McGinley. She also proved helpful at the renowned Community Vanguard jazz membership, linked to the city’s music picture, and gathered her own picture taking (some music-related) right into a reserve, Fotografias. Brasil, that was released in 2011. Her debut record, 2012’s wispy Kid Bride, was made by keyboardist Thomas Bartlett aka Doveman (the Country wide, Rufus Wainwright) and released over the Bella Union label. That same calendar year she appeared being a visitor or support vocalist on albums including Glen Hansard’s international-charting Tempo and Repose, Martha Wainwright’s GET BACK to Mama, and Julia Stone’s With the Horns, aswell as Hansard’s 2013 EP Drive FOREVER. Her second record, the denser, synth-jelled torch melody established Pleasure Boy, was once again made by Bartlett and released in 2015.
