Hangtown

Hangtown’s corner from the Americana globe is usually fraught with muscular origins rock that pulls just as much on power pop since it will the garagey part of Neil Small or the vintage Southern rock and roll of Lynyrd Skynyrd. The group surfaced in 1998, after vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Ted Lukas remaining his previous group, Barely Red. He installed with Finn Walling (guitars), Mike Anderson (drums), and fellow Hardly Pink-alum Aaron Akers (bass) to create Hangtown, whose 1st CD, Here for the present time, premiered in August of 1999 on Blue Heart Information, a label began by Americana experienced (and fellow Tampa, FL, designer) Ronny Elliott. The recording garnered enough focus on get Hangtown authorized to Black Doggie Information, a label founded by Cary Hudson and Laurie Stiratt of first-generation alt-country notables Blue Hill. Black Dog Information released Hangtown’s second Compact disc, 11 Factors, in January of 2001. Because of a legal dispute, Hangtown parted methods with Black Doggie later that 12 months. At exactly the same time, they started focus on their third recording.
