Made up of MCs Alaska (or Tim Baker) and Windnbreez (aka Ian McMullin) — who have been both area of the Atoms Family members staff and collaborated frequently making use of their fellow associates, including a 2002 appearance by Alaska in Cannibal Ox’s The Cool Vein — and producer paWL (Paul Iannacchino), who joined up with up with both MCs in 2002 (he previously proved helpful previously with Mr. Lif as well as the Presence, amongst others), Hangar 18 discovered itself a good suit at New York’s underground hip-hop stalwart Definitive Jux. By 2003, the group’s initial one, “Where You At” b/w “Hangar 18 on the Temple of Doom,” premiered, and another year their initial full-length, The Multi-Platinum Debut Record, hit cabinets. In 2007 their follow-up, Sweep the Calf, was released.
