Hammond Scott

Together with his brother Nauman, producer Hammond Scott was the founder from the Dark Top Documents label. Natives of Alexandria, Louisiana, the Scott brothers’ like of music started when they had been children hearing late-night blues and spirit broadcasts over train station WLAC out of Nashville. They created Dark Best in 1981, with Anson Funderburgh’s Speak to You yourself getting the label’s inaugural launch. Subsequently helming materials for the Neville Brothers, Buckwheat Zydeco, Snooks Eaglin, Ronnie Earl and Solomon Burke, Scott created and released noises ranging from Tx blues to Memphis spirit to southwestern Louisiana zydeco in the years to check out, gradually assembling among America’s finest selections of traditional origins music.
