Hal Featuring Gillian Anderson

The Uk ambient techno collective Hal made headlines in 1997 if they teamed with “X-Files” star Gillian Anderson to record the single “Extremis.” The task originated using the BBC documentary series “Potential Fantastic”, managed by Anderson and offering theme music by Hal (Raheen, Savage and Px, respectively). With time, the celebrity became therefore enamoured from the group’s music that she decided to collaborate with them on the one-off single, financing vocals and starring in the video for the monitor “Extremis.” The music also made an appearance on Future–A Trip Through the Electronic Underground, a assortment of techno, ambient, and drum’n’bass paths hand-picked by Anderson herself.
