Håkan Hardenberger

Swedish trumpeter Håkan Hardenberger began monitoring trumpet at age group 8 with Bo Nilsson in his indigenous Malmö; later research included stints with Pierre Thibaud in Paris and Thomas Stevens in LA. Hardenberger commenced his documenting career using the Swedish BIS label in 1984 and since that time has documented recital discs, or continues to be presented as soloist, for some of the main brands, including Sony Classical, Philips, EMI, Decca, and Deutsche Grammophon; he came back to BIS in 2006. He offers commissioned several notable functions from living composers and his partnerships with German composer Heinz Karl Gruber offers attracted particular interest through pieces like the trumpet concerto Aerial (1999), the single piece Exposed Neck (2000), and Three MOB Items (2004). Hardenberger in addition has caused composers Sally Beamish, Toru Takemitsu, Arvo Pärt, and Hans Werner Henze. Furthermore to touring world-wide, Hardenberger shows trumpet in the College or university of Malmö; he’s frequently cited to be among the best exponents of his device.
