Cellist Hai-Ye Ni grew up in China, 1st learning cello with her mom. She continuing her studies in the Shanghai Conservatory, the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Conservatory (with Irene Clear), Juilliard (with Joel Krosnick), and with William Pleeth. She quickly obtained recognition after getting the youngest champion ever from the Naumburg International Cello Competition, in 1991, which resulted in her NY debut recital at Alice Tully Hall. Several awards adopted: the Sony Sera Profession Award in 1995; a unanimous first reward in the International Paulo Cello Competition in Finland in 1996; Metallic Medal in the International Rostropovich competition in 1997; greatest overall performance of Tchaikovsky from your Tchaikovsky International Competition; and in 2001, the Avery Fisher Profession Grant. Ni offers performed using the Chicago Symphony and Christoph Eschenbach at Ravinia, the brand new York Chamber Symphony, the Finnish Radio Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic, the Houston Symphony, the Singapore Symphony, as well as the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Symphony. Other celebrations she’s participated in are the Santa Fe Chamber Music Event with Pinchas Zuckerman, the Marlboro Music Event, Spoleto, and different celebrations in Finland. In 1997, at Yo-Yo Ma’s suggestion, she required over his U.S. tour to premiere Shiny Sheng’s cello concerto, Two Poems, which she also performed on the tv screen program CBS Weekend Morning hours. She was an associate from the Lincoln Middle Chamber Music Culture II from 1997 to 2000. In 1998, Naxos released her recital Compact disc. Furthermore to teaching grasp classes, she was appointed primary cellist of the brand new York Philharmonic in 1999.
