Brooklyn-based indie quartet Habibi were shaped in the springtime of 2011 by Detroit expatriates Rahill Jamalifard and Lenaya Lynch, experiencing their Motown roots of basic but infectious pop melodies delivered with punkish attitude. Jamalifard required lead vocal responsibilities and Lynch performed acoustic guitar and sang, as well as the quartet was curved out by drummer Karen Isabel and bassist Erin Campbell.
