H.N.A.S., the German group carefully connected with spliced cut-up experts like Nurse with Wound and Coil, pursued an identical object using their inception in the first ’80s. The duo of Christoph Heemann and Achim P. Li Khan (aka Achim Flaan) created the group, called it hirsche nicht aus couch (the German is definitely approximately translated as Moose With out a Couch), and started issuing scads of cassette-only produces independently Dom Information. Their first main recording, 1985’s Abwassermusik shown a pastime in collages of examples, tape loops and discovered sounds, frequently repeated advertisement infinitum. For 1986’s Melchior, an extended H.N.A.S. lineup caused the sympathetic Steven Stapleton (of Nurse with Wound) and issued the recording on Stapleton’s United Dairies brands. The group released two even more LPs during 1986-87, Im Schatten Der Möhre and Küttel im Frost (both on Dom). In the mean time, Heemann had started working further afield, with a variety of numbers in the sound underground. He documented a remix-by-mail task with Merzbow (Sleeper Awake within the Edge from the Abyss), made an appearance with Illusion of Security, documented with H.N.A.S.’s have Andreas Martin, and released are Mimir with Legendary Red Dots mainman Edward Ka-Spel. Heemann’s 1st solo function, the 1992 EP Über Den Umgang Mit Umgebung und Andere Versuche (released on Automatic robot Records), effectively finished H.N.A.S. like a documenting entity (though Achim P. Li Khan continuing with two tasks, Damenbart and Brigitte).
