Gypsy Soul

The Washington state-based acoustic rock group Gypsy Soul includes the marital and professional duo of Canadian-American singer/lyricist Cilette Swann and Scottish musician/producer Roman Morykit. They fulfilled in 1991 after Swann had opted to Europe to research her Celtic root base and spent a couple of years performing in French jazz night clubs, then got her search to Scotland, where she performed in a music group with Morykit’s old sibling. Cabana Boy Information released their debut record, Test of your time, in 1996. Sanctuary, their second record, followed on From the Beaten Monitor Recordings on July 7, 1998. Sacred, a Xmas album, was released two months afterwards. Their performance from the tune “Czardasz” was selected for addition on French DJ Claude Challe’s Lover-Dose record in 2000, as well as the same season they released their 4th record, Superstition Highway. The Trip, their fifth record, premiered on WorldSound on Sept 24, 2002. Another Xmas collection, Amazing Sophistication, arrived on November 5, 2002. Their seventh record, One Beautiful Evening (June 2004), was a live documenting issued by From the Beaten Monitor. In Apr 2007, they released their 8th album, Under the Addresses: A Rediscovery, which they shown their renditions of tracks by U2, the Moody Blues, Chris Isaak, Stevie Question, the Beatles, Daniel Lanois, and John Denver, along with some originals. Jointly, their separately released albums got sold almost 100,000 copies by 2007, and their music have been heard a lot more than 100 moments in movies and on tv series including Providence, Felicity, Roswell, After Sex, Quicksand, as well as the Young as well as the Restless.
