Gurrumul

Born for the remote control Elcho Island from the coastline of Australia’s North Place in 1970, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu found his instruments of preference, the two times bass and classical guitar, from a age group. A keyboardist in important Aboriginal collective Yothu Yindi for seven years, he shaped the short-lived clothing Saltwater before getting into a solo profession along with his 2008 self-titled debut recording, lots three strike in his homeland and champion of two ARIA Honours that was sung completely in his indigenous Yolngu language. Following a 2011 follow-up Rrakala, he performed on “Sing,” Gary Barlow’s formal anthem for the Queen’s Gemstone Jubilee celebrations.
