Named following the cuddly Gremlins figure, French-Senegalese MC Guizmo, aka Lamine Diakite, rapidly became among the Gallic hip-hop scene’s breakout stars. Elevated in Villeneuve-la-Garenne, he was raised hearing his mother’s assortment of traditional Motown information, but after creating a like of rap as an adolescent, was taken beneath the wing of Alpha Wann, who asked him to become listed on the band’s road collective, L’Entourage. After producing a name for himself through numerous rap fights, YouTube video clips of his freestyle abilities, and guest looks on songs by Saké and Selah Sue, he released his personal street album, Regular, in 2011. A 12 months later, he made an appearance around the Booska Tape, Vol. 1 mixtape, remaining L’Entourage because of “creative variations,” and obtained popular with “Maman STP” before issuing his debut studio room work, La Banquise.
