Grupo Montéz de Durango, probably the most famous professionals from the Pasito Duranguense, or the Durango Stage, a rhythm-driven cross of quebradita and merengue invented by Mexican-Americans in Chicago, the town from where in fact the users of Grupo Montéz de Durango hail, found achievement in both U.S. and Mexico because the release of the debut recording, Rama Seca, in 1997. Having a lineup that generally rotated between José Luis Terrazas on drums, Alfredo Memoryírez Corral on lead vocals, Ismael Mijarez on bass, Daniel Terrazas Avila on keyboards, Paco Lopez on keyboards, César Ruelas on trombone, and Armando Aguirre Ramirez on tamboura, and also other visitor music artists, Grupo Montéz de Durango continued to release a lot more information, including 1998’s Tu Mirada: Coleccion Primary, 2002’s Sube con Baja, 2003’s De Durango a Chicago, and 2006’s Borron con Cuenta Nueva.
