Athens, GA indie-pop quartet Gritty Kitty comprised vocalist/guitarist Jason Taylor, guitarist John Hart, vocalist/bassist Polly Hansen and drummer Jessica Slavich. Getting with regional label Kindercore, the group debuted using a divide seven-inch with Rug Youngster, accompanied by the cassette Stardust and Loser Wheelbarrows; the full-length Mistaking Airplanes for Superstars made an appearance in 1997.
