Greedy Smith

As keyboardist/vocalist with Mental as Anything, Greedy Smith was probably one of the most enjoyable entertainers in Australia. Posting the stage with Martin Plaza (acoustic guitar/vocals), Reg Mombassa (acoustic guitar/vocals), Peter O’Doherty (bass/vocals), and David “Parrot” Twohill (drums) isn’t a simple task, but Smith pulls it off with design and wit. His tracks using the Mentals have already been a few of their most well-known ever (including “WAY TOO MANY Instances,” “Nature Got Shed,” “You’re Therefore Strong,” as well as the greatly effective “Live It Up”), however it got him until 1997 release a a solo recording (his earlier side-project, Greedy’s within the Loose, under no circumstances released any recordings because of the expert tapes being ruined in a open fire). Smith’s 1st solo album, Like Harmonica on TRW Information, was an exceptionally low-key affair. Smith performed the majority of it himself, focusing on a lot of harmonica solos.
