Founded in Athens, Georgia in 1996, Great Lakes certainly are a psychedelic-tinged indie pop/indie folk group led by songwriter Ben Crum. The very first model of the group was set up by Crum and Dan Donahue, two musically likely friends who fulfilled in senior high school; they started writing songs jointly, with Donahue focusing on lyrics and Crum adding melodies.
