The ocean shanty tradition of Newfoundland is fused using the spirit and energy of contemporary rock and popular music by Great Big Ocean. Their hard-driving strategy has not just made them well-known within their homeland, where they are nominated for four Juno Honours, but has taken them an evergrowing recognition throughout THE UNITED STATES and European countries. The motivation for Great Big Ocean was sparked during casual, kitchen-party jam classes within the Newfoundland angling town of Petty Harbor.
