Produced in Philadelphia in 2008, melodic pop ensemble Grandchildren combine ’60s psychedelia with modern electronica. Originally simply the solo task of vocalist/songwriter Aleks Martray, Grandchildren ultimately grew right into a bigger ensemble having a bevy of acoustic, electrical, and electronic music artists. They released their debut record, Everlasting, this year 2010. In 2013, Grandchildren came back using their sophomore record, Golden Age group, which highlighted the multi-instrumentalist lineup of Martray, Russell Brodie, Adam Katz, Tristan Palazzolo, Roman Salcic, and John Vogel. In the summertime of 2015, they released their third long-player, Zuni, being a five-piece without Palazzolo. The record explored a darker unconscious with introspective lyrics together with their exuberant, experimental make of orchestral indie electro-psych pop.
