Grace Nelson

b. 10 July 1958, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, Western Indies, d. May 1998. Nelson started her musical profession during her teenage years, carrying out around Kingston. In the middle-80s her vocal styling impressed the maker Clarence Royce who released ‘Where Do The Love Proceed’, ‘Jah Giveth’ and her debut, Kingston Town. By 1995, these produces were receiving lengthy overdue acknowledgement within reggae circles, and she was asked to tour the united kingdom. While in London she exhibited her vocal skill around the Lynx Display alongside various encouraging performers. While touring European countries using the group, she was contacted from the German-based, Irie Hi Fi to record several obscure singles. In 1997, she came back to Jamaica, where she documented and released the favoured ‘Name Brand’ and ‘Simply no Container Scrapings’. Both had been local strikes in Kingston, the achievement of which, resulted in her being asked to join Dark Uhuru on the Western tour. Her intensified profession was starting to flourish when in-may 1998 she was discovered murdered outside her Kingston house. Nelson was another statistic from the escalating assault in the Jamaican capital. The authorities had no network marketing leads regarding the period of loss of life (although forensics motivated that her body had opted unnoticed for 14 days), who attacked her or why she was slain.
