Gowns

The core from the neo-psychedelic folk outfit Gowns includes singers and songwriters Erika Anderson and Ezra Buchla. Buchla (the boy of pioneering synthesizer designer Don Buchla, whose first-generation digital music devices had been utilized by Morton Subotnick yet others) have been a founding person in the LA noise punk clothing the Mae Shi, while Anderson got played electric guitar with Henry Barnes’ eclectic experimental task Amps for Christ. Along with drummer Corey Fogel, among Buchla’s previous Mae Shi bandmates, Buchla and Anderson relocated to SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA and shaped the dark and moodier Dresses in 2006. Crimson State, documented in Anderson’s house condition of South Dakota, premiered in later 2007. Following the album’s discharge, Fogel was changed by brand-new drummer Jacob Felix Heule and bassist Aaron Davis was put into the lineup. The group’s third record, Broken Bones, found its way to 2009. Dresses disbanded in early 2010, with Anderson shifting to a single profession as EMA.
