Gotye

Gotye (pronounced “go-ti-yay” or “Gauthier”) may be the alias of Australian electronic pop trickster Wally de Backer. Blessed in Belgium and elevated in Melbourne, de Backer started producing music in his bedroom as a teenager, and for quite some time fronted the rock-band Downstares. Following the group dissolved, he gravitated toward cut-and-paste digital music, and in 2003 released the initial Gotye record, Boardface. Like Sketching Blood followed 2 yrs afterwards, notching the cult strike “Learnalilgivinanlovin” and gaining J Award factor from the important Aussie radio place Triple J. De Backer concurrently offered in the Melbourne pop trio the fundamentals. In 2011 Gotye released Producing Mirrors, having a duet with vocalist Kimbra, “Someone That I Utilized to learn.” The melody became a worldwide strike in 2012, charting in Billboard’s Sizzling hot 100 and Rock and roll Songs charts.
