Gordon Waller

b. 4 June 1945, Braemar, Grampian, Scotland. Waller produced his name as the greater fractious half from the Peter And Gordon duo in the middle-60s. When their romantic relationship finished in acrimony in 1967, Waller elected to go after a solo profession, though he’d never experience a good part of the achievement of his previous venture. Putting your signature on to Columbia Information, he documented his debut one, ‘Rosencrans Boulevard’, in 1968. A Jim Webb structure, it highlighted a thick, orchestral arrangement that was unsuited to Waller’s even more stylised vocal skills. Successive singles ‘Every Time’ and ‘Weeping Annaeleah’ also failed. Waller after that shifted to Bell Information, but neither ‘I Was A Boy When You Required A Guy’ nor ‘(You’re Gonna) Harm Yourself’ came back him towards the graphs. When he finally released his debut record in 1972 it had been for progressive rock and roll label Vertigo Information. The critical a reaction to Gordon was overwhelmingly hostile, making sure the record’s destiny among the worst-sellers in Vertigo’s background. Disillusioned, Waller quit the music business to consider up farming. In the middle-70s he produced a brief return, appearing for the Joseph AS WELL AS THE Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat soundtrack, but thereafter provides remained quiet.
