Gordon Monahan

Musician and multimedia designer Gordon Monahan has generated works which range from piano compositions to loudspeaker installations because the past due ’70s. He performed in rock rings for quite some time, beginning in the past due ’60s. In the mid-’70s through the entire ’80s, Canadian-born Monahan examined physics, after that piano and structure in Ottawa and New Brunswick, spending 2 yrs during this time period as the pianist in John Cage’s Etudes Australes, and learning with Cage. Monahan started mounting media installations and making audio sculptures in the past due ’70s. One function, commissioned by a business in Miami, was prohibited in the city’s 1988 SONGS America celebration. “When It Rains” (2000) was commissioned by Canada Musique; “Earworks” (1983) and “Music From Nowhere” (1992) are among his various other important functions. Monahan plays body organ within a pop group known as Fuzzy Like, and may be the creative movie director of irreverent media group KB Zed. He has already established many residencies in THE UNITED STATES and has created for numerous music publications. Some of his recordings, in the beginning self-released, had been reissued by Swerve Editions and Musicworks.
