Gordi

The pre-eminent really difficult rock band of Yugoslavia in the first 80s, Gordi comprised Zlatko Manojlovic (guitar/vocals), Slobodan Surdlan (bass/vocals) and Gedomir Petrovic (drums). Seriously influenced by United kingdom rock and roll music, the audio they offered on the 1981 debut recording, Pakleni Trio, was close in conception compared to that of Dark Sabbath or Motörhead – albeit with no originality of songwriting. A follow-up collection released the next 12 months, Kraljica Smrti, was just like brutal, and were able to protected a cult target audience beyond central Europe. Unfortunately, the group discovered it difficult to get function permits to tour beyond the Balkans, which hampered their initial impetus.
