Gone

Formed close to the end of his tenure because the leader of LA hardcore legends Dark Flag, Greg Ginn’s instrumental group Eliminated walked the unusual fine range between atonal jazz, riff-heavy rock and roll, and short forays into funk stylings sporadically from 1986 onward. The very first Gone discharge, Let’s COME ON, Real Eliminated for a Transformation, and its follow-up, Eliminated II: But Hardly ever Too Gone, highlighted eventual Rollins Music group associates Sim Cain (drums) and Andrew Weiss (bass). Eliminated went noiseless after their initial two releases, never to come back until 1994 with not just one but two brand-new full-lengths produces that year, Offender Mind and All of the Dirt That’s Suit to Printing. With Cain and Weiss no more using Ginn (Weiss, by this time around, had shifted in the Rollins Music group and adopted bass responsibilities with Ween), substitutes were discovered with bassist Steve Clear and drummer Gregory Moore. 1996 and 1998 noticed further Gone produces, Best Remaining Unsaid and Nation Dumb, respectively. Additional projects, in addition to distribution complications at Ginn’s (and for example Gone’s) label, SST, held Gone peaceful after 1998, restricting the music group to periodic live appearances.
