Golden Dawn

Golden Dawn are an Austrian dark metallic band whose career occurred in two unique phases. The 1st noticed founding vocalist and keyboardist Stefan Traunmüller operating primarily alone through the entire early ’90s, documenting demos and one-off tunes for independent intense metallic compilations, before finally starting up with regional session music artists to record 1996’s The Artwork of Thinking LP. Boasting a compellingly idiosyncratic mixture of natural black metallic thrashing fury and atmospheric, so-called avant-garde synthesizer-based passages, the record garnered very much praise from your underground press, but loved limited distribution when Golden Dawn’s record organization, Dark Matter, travelled stomach up. In another heart stroke of foul fortune, so do their following label, Ars Metalli, but a prolonged Traunmüller finally were able to complete another work entitled Masquerade by using Karim Kienzleg (acoustic guitar), Sebastian Reiter (acoustic guitar, bass), and Moritz Neuner (drums — observe also Korova and Abigor). Signaling the beginning of stage two of Golden Dawn’s trajectory, this work premiered in 2003 by Napalm Information, which, miraculously, offers yet to walk out business — third period lucky?
