An innovative force within NY City’s underground hip-hop picture, Godfather Don 1st appeared in 1991 with Hazardous, released for the Select imprint. The recording founded the Godfather as an MC affected from the blatant, hard-hitting design of Chuck D. A couple of years afterwards, the Don made an appearance on and created the Ultramagnetic MC’s’ Four Horsemen, which resulted in a collaboration with this group’s standout, Kool Keith. The Cenobites EP was released on Fondle ‘Em Information, which was began by NY b-boy, DJ, and guy about city Bobbito Garcia. The materials over the EP acquired originally been documented as gags or promos for Garcia’s underground hip-hop radio display on New York’s WKCR. The Cenobites EP was after that reissued by Fondle ‘Em being a full-length LP. Through the entire 1990s, Godfather Don continuing to are a producer, focusing on monitors from Kool Keith, Hostyle, and Ayatollah, amongst others. In 1999, he released his second record, Diabolique, which his stream was nearly the same as the bludgeoning raps of his 1991 debut. The record included cameo performances from Kool Keith and Sir Menelik, and made an appearance over the Hydra Entertainment imprint, that Godfather Don continuing to record, launching many 12″ singles in 1999, 2000, and 2001.
