Boundary-breaking duo God-Des & She are mostly of the openly homosexual hip-hop artists to create any impact within the mainstream, because of their mixture of hard-hitting themes, Eminem-influenced lyrical delivery, and melodic soul-pop hooks. Rapper God-Des, the girl of the trombone professor dad who played for the Flintstones theme, along with a cellist mom who performed with Carole Ruler, and vocalist She, a previous punk music group drummer previously referred to as Tina G, initial met up in Madison, WI in 1999. After continuously touring the U.S. they shifted to NY in 2004, where they both got on various careers to be able to finance their music, and in exactly the same season, they appeared within the LGBT route Logo design documentary Hip-Hop Homos, opened up for MC Lyte and Slick Rick, and released their debut record, Actuality. After playing at a celebration for Showtown’s lesbian crisis, The L Phrase, they were asked by producers to execute their provocative monitor, “Lick It,” for the Series 3 finale’s wedding ceremony scene. Pursuing 2008’s sophomore OPERATE, the set toured the planet, and teamed up with Open public Foe bassist Brian Hardgroove, who created their critically acclaimed 2009 work, Three.
