Glenn Hughes

Starting out because the bassist and lead vocalist for English hard rockers Trapeze (which developed from British soulsters the news headlines) in 1969, Glenn Hughes accomplished his greatest fame because the bass player of Deep Crimson from 1974 before group divided in 1976. Hughes eventually reconvened Trapeze (without records ensuing) and released his single debut, Play Me Out, in 1978. His following effort, documented with guitarist Pat Thrall beneath the name Hughes/Thrall, made an appearance in 1983, and proved helpful within the supergroup Phenomena in 1985. Hughes after that joined Dark Sabbath as business lead vocalist for 1986’s The Seventh Superstar, departing from then on album and finally surfacing with — of most performers — the techno/home group the KLF, executing on the 1991 one “America — What Period Is Like?” In 1993, Mike Varney’s Shrapnel label released the brand new Hughes single album Blues, which he performed bass and sang with a range of visitor guitarists. A string of single releases followed with the ’90s, including 1995’s Burning up Japan Live, 1997’s Obsession (which addressed a number of the personal issues that got kept Hughes away from recording for some of the last mentioned fifty percent of the ’80s), and 1999’s JUST HOW It Is. Go back to Crystal Karma (2000) and Building the device (2001) noticed Hughes delivering a set of limited, funk-tinged pop/rock and roll outings, while Tunes in the main element of Rock and roll (2003) drew motivation from your 1970s hard rock and roll — during this time period Hughes collaborated with Joe Lynn Turner on a set of albums beneath the HTP — Hughes-Turner Task — moniker.
