Glad

The progressive Christian rock-band GLAD was formed in the campus of West Chester State University close to Philadelphia through the early ’70s; motivated by jazz and traditional music and with a solid emphasis on complicated harmonies, the group — John Gates, Ed Nalle, Jim Bullard, Chris Davis and Paul Langford — debuted in 1978 using a self-titled LP in the Myrrh/Phrase label. Using their second work, 1980’s Beyond a Superstar, GLAD began an extended custom of including at least one a cappela monitor on each of their albums; with 1982’s Captured with time, they transferred to the Benson label, their house for more than ten years. With 1988’s all-vocal The Acapella Task, the group have scored their most effective record to time, and in the foreseeable future they alternated between cappella tasks and full-band recordings.
