Gothenburg, Sweden-based teen-pop group Girlfrendo — performers Jo Friendo and Sara Safari, guitarist Golden Guy, bassist Nicholas, keyboardist Anders K. and drummer Per — debuted in 1997 with some well-received indie EPs including Shout It ALOUD & Crystal clear, Girlfrendo OFFERS YOU That Fab Equipment, Girlfrendo OFFERS YOU a Lovebite, PREPARE YOURSELF to become Heartbroken by Girlfrendo and Firstkiss Emotions vs. Everyday Feelings. The band’s initial full-length LP Shock! Shock! It’s Girlfrendo made an appearance in 1998; the solo “Cat Heaven” adopted a year later on.
