Gigi

Gigi is a Vancouver, BC-based indie pop task whose Ellie Greenwich-worthy pop hooks, sensitive girl-boy harmonies, and vintage production beliefs welcome evaluations to acts just like the College and Sunday Looks Good if you ask me. However the group includes a huge ensemble of contributors (over twelve musicians contributed towards the group’s initial album, like the prefers of Rose Melberg and Karl Blau), Gigi reaches its primary a cooperation between Nick Krgovich (best-known for his use P:ano no Children) and manufacturer Colin Stewart. In 2005, having received his practical several old-school dish reverbs, Stewart contacted Krgovich with the theory to create some Phil Spector-style recordings. Some live-off-the-floor recording periods ensued, culminating 3 years afterwards in the songs that could become Gigi’s debut full-length, Maintenant. The recording premiered on Tomlab in January, 2010.
