Gifts or Creatures

Gifts or Animals is the music task of husband-and-wife duo Brandon and Bethany Foote. Located in Lansing, Michigan, the few began composing songs together in ’09 2009, ultimately issuing their debut LP Pilot Home this year 2010 via the Michigan arts collective label Earthworks. Their evocative music mixes folk, pop, and Americana components having a deep historic bent that’s sometimes both hauntingly dark and wistfully poetic. The interplay between Brandon’s warm, guitar and Bethany’s Wurlitzer electrical piano is really as very much a personal sound as are their sensitive vocal harmonies. Pursuing many years of touring and composing, the band go about documenting their follow-up recording. Released in Sept 2013, Yesteryear Traditional western Darkness featured a more substantial ensemble than before including pedal metal, vibraphone, and a full-time tempo section.
